Myocardial ischemia correlates with right ventricular dysfunction in patients with noncompaction cardiomyopathy
The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation Apr 07, 2020
Cerar A, et al. - Researchers examined a potential correlation between myocardial ischemia and right ventricle (RV) failure in a cohort of 41 noncompaction cardiomyopathy (NCM) patients (28 male, 13 female; aged 21 to 70 years). Echocardiography was performed at baseline to determine RV inflow diastolic diameter, tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion, systolic tissue Doppler velocity on tricuspid annulus and RV fractional area change. Myocardial ischemia (the summed difference score (SDS) ≥ 2 on myocardial SPECT at rest and on stress) had been reported in 11 patients (27%, Group A), 30 patients had no significant ischemic changes (73%, Group B). Larger RV size and worse RV function were observed in correlation with myocardial ischemia among patients with NCM
