Myocardial glucose metabolism is increased in newly diagnosed lung adenocarcinoma
Cardiology Aug 03, 2021
Wu J, Wang L, Wang Y, et al. - Experts aspired to explore whether left ventricular myocardial glucose metabolism is altered and its related factors in newly diagnosed patients with lung adenocarcinoma (LAD) who underwent fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (18 F-FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT). One hundred seventy-one patients with newly diagnosed LAD and 43 nononcologic subjects with matched age and gender were retrospectively analyzed from the 18 F-FDG PET/CT imaging database. In patients with newly diagnosed LAD, myocardial glucose metabolism is increased. The maximum diameter of the LAD lesion, as well as spleen and epicardial adipose tissue activity, all contribute to increased LV activity in the LAD.
