Myocardial fibrosis evaluated by diffusion-weighted imaging and its relationship to 3D contractile function in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Apr 05, 2018
Wu R, et al. - To identify myocardial fibrosis and its relationship to the contractile function in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), the prognostic value of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) using 3.0T cardiac MRI was determined. The value of ADC of each segment was estimated through the presence of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) and the extracellular volume (ECV) values. ECV and ADC values appeared to be markedly increased in the LGE + group compared to the LGE – group. An inverse link was demonstrated between ADC values with ECV values in HCM patients. Contractile dysfunction in HCM was predominantly related to ADC,
