Mycophenolate mofetil in combination with steroids for treatment of C3 glomerulopathy: A case series
Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology Jan 19, 2018
Avasare RS, et al. - Mycophenolate mofetil has a known role in the treatment of complement-mediated diseases other than C3 glomerulopathy. In this study, researchers assessed the outcomes of patients with C3 glomerulopathy treated with steroids and mycophenolate mofetil. They found that combination therapy with steroids induced remission in 67% of the studied cohort, among patients who tolerated mycophenolate mofetil. Notably, heavier proteinuria at the start of therapy and lower soluble membrane attack complex levels were shown to be associated with treatment resistance.
