Muscle pedicle bone flap transplantation for treating femoral neck fracture in adults: A systematic review
Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research May 13, 2021
Wu Y, Song M, Peng G, et al. - A systematic review was performed to gather available evidence on the effectiveness of muscle pedicle bone flap transplantation in adult patients with femoral neck fractures. Researchers carried out searches of PubMed, EMBASE, IEEE, Web of Science, and Cochrane library from their dates of inception until March 2021. Twenty studies including a total of 1,022 patients were included in this research. The outcomes demonstrate that muscle pedicle bone flap transplantation provides promising results with low rates of avascular necrosis and nonunion in this systematic review. However, there is a need for further controlled studies to determine the efficacy of muscle pedicle bone flap transplantation in treating femoral neck fracture.
