Zheng Z, et al. - Researchers undertook this meta-analysis to address which types of congenital malformations (CM) are increased in IVF/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) multiple pregnancies compared with those conceived naturally. Outcomes revealed more frequent chromosomal defects, urogenital and circulatory system malformations among the multiple pregnancies generated by IVF/ICSI than those conceived after natural conception. Findings thus provide additional information on the risks of IVF/ICSI that could be used when counselling patients.
