Multiparametric MRI features identify aggressive prostate cancer at the phenotypic and transcriptomic level
The Journal of Urology Jul 10, 2018
Beksac AT, et al. - Authors ascertained if multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) can forecast aggressive prostate cancer features. Patients who had a radical prostatectomy between 2013 and 2017 were included. Findings suggested a correlation of Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) score with adverse pathology, increased metastatic risk, and differential genomic pathway activation. They noted a significant association of lesion size, PI-RADS score, and extraprostatic extension with the Decipher score. The risk factors for adverse pathology were PI-RADS score, Gleason group and prostate-specific antigen, as seen on multivariable analysis.
