Multicenter study comparing oncologic outcomes after lymph node assessment via a sentinel lymph node algorithm vs comprehensive pelvic and paraaortic lymphadenectomy in patients with serous and clear cell endometrial carcinoma
Gynecologic Oncology Dec 10, 2019
Schlappe BA, Weaver AL, McGree ME, et al. - In this investigation involving 214 individuals, researchers compared survival after nodal assessment utilizing a sentinel lymph node (SLN) algorithm vs comprehensive pelvic and paraaortic lymphadenectomy in serous or clear cell endometrial carcinoma, as well as compared survival in node-negative cases. According to findings, the SLN algorithm did not affect the OS. Despite the majority receiving chemotherapy, SLN may be related to a reduced recurrence-free survival but comparable OS in node-negative cases. This can be due to surveillance discrepancies.
