Wingate JT, et al. - This study was executed in order to investigate the degree of benefit from artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) placement utilizing the Incontinence Symptom Index (ISI), which analyzed the severity and bother of urinary incontinence and the Incontinence Impact Questionnaire-7 (IIQ-7), which gauged the effect and emotional distress of urinary incontinence. A prominent reduction was unveiled in the severity and bother of stress urinary incontinence symptoms via AUS implantation. The recommendation put forth were longer follow-up and development of a patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) targeting male stress urinary incontinence (SUI).
