Multi-institutional evaluation of the prognostic significance of EZH2 expression in high-grade upper tract urothelial carcinoma
Urologic Oncology: Seminars and Original Investigations May 15, 2018
Singla N, et al. - Experts assessed the prognostic value of enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) expression in upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC). A multi-institutional cohort of patients who underwent radical nephroureterectomy for high-grade UTUC from 1990 to 2008 was reviewed. In patients with high-grade UTUC, increased EZH2 expression was related to adverse pathologic features and inferior oncologic outcomes. On univariate analysis, inferior recurrence-free (RFS), cancer-specific (CSS), and overall survival (OS) was significantly predicted by increased EZH2 expression. This significant association was maintained on multivariate analysis, with the exception of RFS.
