Multi-b-value diffusion weighted imaging for preoperative evaluation of risk stratification in early-stage endometrial cancer
European Journal of Radiology Oct 01, 2019
Zhang Q, Yu X, Lin M, et al. - Fifty-three individuals with early-stage endometrial cancer (EC) who preoperatively underwent multi-b-value DWI with 13 b values were involved to examine the application of multi-b-value DWI parameters for the evaluation of risk stratification in early-stage EC. In intermedium-risk vs low-risk, as well as high-risk vs low-risk of early-stage EC, the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and true diffusivity values were significantly lower, while perfusion fraction (f) values only explicated important variations between low-risk and intermedium-risk groups. Among the single parameters, the highest area under the ROC curve was noted in the ADC values, in the identification of the low-risk of early-stage EC. Furthermore, the best diagnostic performance was seen in the combination of ADC and f value. Therefore, for the evaluation of risk stratification in early-stage endometrial cancer, the multi-b-value DWI parameters give valuable imaging biomarkers. This strategy might aid the choice of the optimal therapeutic strategy and result in the greater personalization of cancer care.
