MRI of plaque characteristics and relationship with downstream perfusion and cerebral infarction in patients with symptomatic middle cerebral artery stenosis
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Nov 05, 2017
Lu SS, et al. - This study is performed to examine the connection between plaque attributes and downstream perfusion changes, and their contribution to the occurrence of cerebral infarction beyond the luminal stenosis. According to the outcome obtained, strongly enhanced plaques are related to a higher likelihood of downstream perfusion impairment. Plaque enhancement and perfusion assessment may play a complementary role to luminal stenosis in ascertaining the occurrence of acute cerebral infarction.
