Shock Aug 24, 2017
Gotmaker R, et al. – This study entailed the comparison of baseline features, treatments, and outcomes of participants enrolled into the Australian Resuscitation in Sepsis Evaluation (ARISE) trial according to the presence of isolated hyperlactatemia or isolated refractory hypotension. Among the participants in the ARISE trial, a worse adjusted 90–day mortality was observed in those who had isolated hyperlactatemia versus those with isolated refractory hypotension. Isolated hyperlactatemia possibly defined greater illness severity and worse outcomes than isolated refractory hypotension in septic patients.
