Mortality and short-term morbidity in infants with exomphalos

Pediatrics International Mar 03, 2018

Sakonidou S, et al. - This trial incorporated a determination of the predictors of survival irrespective of the size of the exomphalos. Additionally, researchers ascertained if infants with exomphalos minor also suffered morbidity. Based on the results, it was deduced that infants with exomphalos, regardless of size, could suffer chronic morbidity. Findings disclosed that mortality was commonest in those with exomphalos major born at lower gestational ages and birth weights.
