Journal of Critical Care Dec 23, 2020
Hittesdorf E, Wang D, Stevens JS, et al. - In this study, intermediate-term (discharge and 90-days) renal outcomes and mortality were retrospectively evluated in 116 patients with severe COVID-19 requiring mechanical ventilation who were cared for in a provisional OR ICU. Researchers recruited 116 individuals with COVID-19 who required mechanical ventilation and were cared for in the OR-ICU. This study’s findings demonstrated that survival was similar to previous reports of patients with severe COVID-19 for patients cared for in provisional ICUs compared to standard ICUs. The outcomes demonstrated that most individuals with severe COVID-19 and AKI are likely to recover full renal function.
