Morphometric analysis of the coracoid process and glenoid width: A 3D-CT study
Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research Mar 04, 2020
Jia Y, He N, Liu J, et al. - This research seeks to identify the morphometric parameters in the coracoid process and glenoid width. Researchers enrolled a total of 84 individuals (55 males and 29 females) using our institution’s electronic database, who underwent a shoulder CT scan Between January 2017 and May 2018. The study found a positive and significant association between the coracoid process and the glenoid width. There were significant differences in all parameters between males and females. There were no significant differences among the age groups, whereas significant differences in almost all parameters between the ethnic groups were seen. The outcomes could increase the information in the shoulder joint database with morphometric parameters and give a reference for theoretical analysis on coracoid osteotomy, which may in turn help surgeons in the evaluation of coracoid process transfer.
