More extensive white matter hyperintensity is linked with higher risk of remote intracerebral hemorrhage after intravenous thrombolysis
European Journal of Neurology Nov 11, 2017
Yi Chen, et al. - In this study, the authors evaluated the frequency of and possible relationship of remote intracerebral hemorrhage (rICH) with the severity of white matter hyperintensity (WMH) in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients. Following intravenous thrombolysis, an increased occurrence rate of rICH was associated with more extensive WMH, which could suggest the underlying whole-brain vascular injury in patients with WMH.
