Montelukast combined with intranasal momentasone furate vs intranasal momentasone furate: A comparative study in treatment of adenoid hypertrophy
American Journal of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Medicine and Surgery Sep 17, 2020
Ras AE, et al. - In this investigation involving 100 children, researchers sought to assess the role of combined therapy using montelukast and intranasal momentasone furate compared with intranasal momentasone furate alone in the treatment of adenoid hypertrophy regarding effectiveness and recurrence rate. Children with adenoid hypertrophy were randomly assigned to two groups. Group I (50 patients) received combined therapy using montelukast and momentasone furate nasal spray and group II (50 patients) received only momentasone furate nasal spray. The combination of oral montelukast with intranasal momentasone in adenoid hypertrophy treatment provided better results and less recurrence compared with single intranasal momentasone therapy alone.
