Monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 as a marker of systemic lupus erythematosus: An observational study

Rheumatology International May 20, 2018

Zivkovic V, et al. - Researchers evaluated the levels of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) in the serum and urine of SLE patients and healthy individuals to establish their clinical significance. Findings demonstrated a positive correlation of both serum and urinary MCP-1 with SLEDAI. Compared to healthy controls, in patients with SLE, significantly higher serum and urinary MCP-1 levels were seen regardless of the disease activity and renal involvement. In the routine laboratory follow-up of the SLE patients, MCP-1 measurement was recommended.
