Mometasone or tiotropium in mild asthma with a low sputum eosinophil level

Lazarus SC, et al. – In this double-blind, crossover trial conducted for over 42 weeks that included 295 patients (up to 12 years of age) with mild, persistent asthma, researchers determined patient response to mometasone and tiotropium vs placebo. Overall, most patients had low sputum eosinophil levels and demonstrated no significant differences in their responses to either mometasone or tiotropium vs placebo.
