Molecular characterization of lung adenocarcinoma from Korean patients using next generation sequencing
PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases Dec 05, 2019
Chun YJ, Choi JW, Hong MH, et al. - A total of 201 tumors and their matched peripheral blood samples were investigated using targeted sequencing through the Illumina HiSeq 2500 platform of 242 genes with a median depth of coverage greater than 500X in the order to recognize cancer-related genetic alterations by next-generation sequencing (NGS) in resected lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) samples from Korean individuals and to ascertain their related to clinical characteristics. In this study, profiles of 242 genes mapped were contrasted with whole-exome sequencing genetic profiles produced in The Cancer Genome Atlas Lung Adenocarcinoma. Thus, NGS-based diagnostics could give clinically important information like mutations or tumor mutational burden from easily accessible formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue.
