Bui TTT, et al. – In order to ascertain the genotypes and subgenotypes of hepatitis B virus (HBV), experts performed a study among treatment naive chronic HBV patients in southern Vietnam. In southern Vietnam, HBV genotype B including subgenotype B4 was predominant. Subgenotype C1 prompted one fourth of the chronic HBV infections.
