Yang X, Liang J, Li W, et al. - Researchers presented this surgical video article with the aim to introduce the minimally invasive Vecchietti procedure based on single-port laparoscopy with self-made surgical instruments for the surgical management of Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome (MRKH). They presented a 22-year-old woman with primary amenorrhea and inability to participate in penetrative sexual intercourse. A phenotypically normal vulva and absence of the vagina were revealed in gynecological examination. Expression of a normal 46,XX karyotype was identified. A transvaginal operation and laparoscopic surgery were performed in the modified Vecchietti procedure. Operation was performed for a duration of 30 minutes, and the intraoperative blood loss of 10 mL was recorded. The duration of hospitalization of 10 days was observed. The vaginal depth of 9 cm at 5 days after the surgery was recorded before discharge, and removal of the self-made traction system was made. The modified Vecchietti vaginoplasty is identified to be a simple, safe, cost-effective, and minimally invasive procedure that offers an anatomic and functional neovagina for MRKH patients.
