International Journal of Surgery Jun 13, 2018
Hasan O, et al. - This is the first case series in which researchers studied the outcomes of modified use of PHILOS plate in lateral malleolus fracture. In this non-commercialized retrospective case series performed by a single surgeon at the university tertiary-care level-1 trauma hospital between May 2013 to August 2017, modified use of PHILOS was neither the only nor the best means of achieving union. However, it seems to have the potential for offering significant advantages and is a reasonable option in case of lateral malleolus fracture.
