Modified mechanical percussion for upper urinary tract stone fragments after extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy: A prospective multi-center randomized controlled trial
Urology Mar 18, 2018
Jing S, et al. - Researchers aimed to investigate the efficacy of modified mechanical percussion for eliminating upper urinary tract (UUT) stone fragments after extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (SWL). Stone-expulsion rate (SERs) was significantly improved by modified mechanical percussion, furthermore, it accelerated stone passage after SWL. This procedure led to a stone-free status with a lower risk of unfavourable events and decreased need for additional interventions.
