Modified 3-point MRI-based tumor regression grade incorporating DWI for locally advanced rectal cancer
American Journal of Roentgenology Oct 20, 2017
Lee MA, et al. - The prognostic relevance of a modified 3-point MRI-based tumor regression grading system incorporating DWI for patients with locally advanced rectal cancer after preoperative chemoradiotherapy (CRT) was assessed in this study. Researchers concluded that the modified 3-point mrTRG incorporating DWI was independently related to the 3-year disease-free survival (DFS) rate after CRT followed by surgery in patients with middle or lower locally advanced rectal cancer. The grading scale may be utilized as a surrogate for expected prognosis of preoperative CRT.
