Nkonki LLL, et al. - This trial entailed the measurement of the costs and effect on reducing child mortality of scaling up interventions, which could be delivered by community health workers, at the community level from the standpoint of a provider. Enormous opportunities for saving lives could be yielded through the use of community health workers. These programmes warranted suitable financial investments. The data illustrated what could be gained if a concerted effort was directed towards the identified set of life-saving interventions.
