Mite-induced asthma and IgE levels to shrimp, mite, tropomyosin, arginine kinase, and Der p 10 are the most relevant risk factors for challenge-proven shrimp allergy
International Archives of Allergy and Immunology Dec 01, 2017
Farioli L, et al. - Researchers undertook this research to determine the role of IgE to the different shrimp and mite allergens in distinguishing shrimp challenge-positive from challenge-negative patients. According to findings, for diagnosing shrimp allergy, food challenge tests were mandatory. Data reported an association of tropomyosin with clinical reactivity. Risk factors for shrimp allergy included house dust mite [HDM]-induced asthma and anti-mite IgE.
