Mirabegron is alternative to antimuscarinic agents for overactive bladder without higher risk in hypertension: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Chen HL, et al. - Experts aimed to conduct a meta-analysis in order to compare the efficacy as well as the safety of mirabegron and antimuscarinic agents, especially in blood pressure changes when administered for overactive bladder (OAB). Compared with antimuscarinic agents, mirabegron was not inferior effective in improving OAB symptoms. Also, lower incidence of dry mouth and not higher risk for hypertension were presented by mirabegron. Hence, for OAB control, mirabegron has potential to be an alternative therapeutic option.
