miR-4284 promotes cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in non-small cell lung cancer cells and is associated with postoperative prognosis
Cancer Management and Research Jul 30, 2021
Yang H, Zhang W, Luan Q, et al. - Researchers focused on the expression as well as on the biological role of microRNA-4284 (miR-4284) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In NSCLC tissues and cell lines, expression of miR-4284 was investigated using qRT-PCR assay. The proliferative abilities of A549 and H1299 cells (human NSCLC cell lines) were assessed by applying the CCK-8 (cell counting kit-8) assay. To ascertain cell migratory and invasive capabilities of NSCLC cells, Transwell migration and invasion assays were used. Findings not only showed a remarkable upregulation of miR-4284 in NSCLC, but also revealed a poor prognosis of postoperative NSCLC patients in relation to miR-4284. The proliferation, migration, and invasion of A549 and H1299 cells was shown to be promoted by miR-4284. Overall, miR-4284 might be used not only as a prognostic biomarker, but also a potential treatment target for postoperative NSCLC patients.
