Minimal important difference and responsiveness of 2-minute walk test performance in people with COPD undergoing pulmonary rehabilitation

Johnston KN, et al. - In a study population of stable COPD patients attending outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation (PR), researchers assessed responsiveness, minimal important difference (MID), test–retest reliability, and construct validity of the 2-minute walk test (2MWT). According to findings, post-PR change in 2MWD of at least 5.5 m corresponded to a clinically meaningful change. In addition, a recommendation was made for a practice test due to learning effects.
