Mild cognitive impairment in Parkinson's disease: The Parkinson's disease cognitive study (PACOS)
Journal of Neurology Mar 02, 2018
Monastero R, et al. - In a large hospital-based cohort of Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients, researchers evaluated the frequency and clinical predictors of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). For this study, cross-sectional data was collected from the Parkinson’s disease cognitive impairment study (PACOS), a multicenter study involving two Movement Disorder centers, which are located in south Italy. In a multivariate logistic regression analysis, findings showed a positive significant association between MCI, age and motor scores, while a negative association was observed between educational level and MCI. The prevalence of MCI in the PACOS sample was approximately 40% and 32% amongst newly diagnosed patients.
