Journal of Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Sep 16, 2017
Alderden J, et al. - The correlation between pressure injury development and the Braden Scale for Pressure Sore Risk subscale scores were gauged in this paper, in a surgical intensive care unit (ICU) cohort. this study also determined if the risk represented by the subscale scores varied between older and younger patients. Varied associations were brought to light between age, Braden Scale subscale scores, and pressure injury development, among subscales. The results recommended extending maximum preventive efforts for the inclusion of individuals with intermediate Braden Scale subscale scores. Age ought to be taken into account along with the subscale scores as a factor in care planning.
