Mid-term outcomes of routine proximal row carpectomy compared with proximal row carpectomy with dorsal capsular interposition arthroplasty for the treatment of late-stage arthropathy of the wrist
The Bone & Joint Journal Feb 07, 2018
Gaspar MP, et al. - In this trial, the authors compared the mid-term outcomes of individuals having late-stage arthritis of the wrist treated with proximal row carpectomy (PRC) and dorsal capsular interposition (DCI) arthroplasty with a matched cohort treated with routine PRC alone. They noted that for late-stage arthritis of the wrist involving the capitolunate joint, PRC with DCI was an effective form of treatment, with mid-term outcomes that were similar to those who were treated with a routine PRC alone without degenerative changes affecting the capitate or lunate fossa.
