Rorije NMG, et al. - In a study population comprising healthy normotensive males, researchers analyzed sodium-induced changes in blood pressure, body weight, as primary outcomes, and also in microvascular permeability, sublingual microcirculatory dimensions, and urinary glycosaminoglycan excretion. Findings suggested direct adverse impacts of intravenous sodium loading on the endothelial surface layer, independent of blood pressure.
