Hocevar A, et al. - In the affected skin of adult IgA vasculitis (IgAV) patients, authors ascertained the expression of five pre-selected miRNAs (miRNA-146a-5p, miRNA-148-3p, miRNA-155-5p, miRNA-223-3p, and let-7b). In vasculitic skin lesions in IgAV, they noted an altered expression of miRNA-148b-3p, miRNA-155-5p, miRNA-223-3p, and let-7b. Moreover, the severity of purpura was positively associated with skin miRNA-223-3p expression. In adult IgAV, biomarkers could be found in aberrantly expressed miRNAs.
