MicroRNA-802 inhibits cell proliferation and induces apoptosis in human laryngeal cancer by targeting cAMP-regulated phosphoprotein 19
Cancer Management and Research Jan 24, 2020
Ye H, et al. - Researchers inquired about the functional role of miR-802 in laryngeal cancer as well as the function of miR-802 and cAMP-regulated phosphoprotein 19 (ARPP19) on laryngeal cancer. They analyzed laryngeal carcinoma cell lines and tissues for the expression level of ARPP19 and miR-802, employing RT-qPCR. The influence of ARPP19 and miR-802 on apoptosis, proliferation, and cell cycle of laryngeal carcinoma cells was determined by using CCK-8, colony formation, flow cytometry assay. They noted a downregulation of miR-802 in laryngeal carcinoma cell lines and tissues. Significant inhibition of laryngeal cancer cells transfected by miR-802 mimic was noted, in terms of cell colony formation and proliferation. The ability of miR-802 to generate tumor suppressor effects in laryngeal carcinoma, by targeting ARPP19, was suggested. This implies a possible role of miR-802 protein as a potential treatment target for clinical laryngeal cancer.
