Microbiome in atopic dermatitis

Wollina U – The topic of exploration here was the microbiome in atopic dermatitis (AD). The findings revealed that the skin barrier–aimed topical treatments assisted in the development of a neo–microbiome from deeper compartments. Probiotics, prebiotics and synbiotics were assessed for the treatment of AD. However additional analyses were required. Targeted treatment options to normalize skin and intestinal microbiome in AD were under investigation.
