METTL3-mediated m6A modification of HDGF mRNA promotes gastric cancer progression and has prognostic significance
Gut Oct 09, 2019
Wang Q, Chen C, Ding Q, et al. - Using tissue microarray and immunohistochemical staining analyses, researchers analyzed the biological function and clinical significance of METTL3 in gastric cancer (GC). Investigators found that the level of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) RNA was significantly increased in GC. The main regulator involved in the abundant m6A RNA modification was METTL3. The expression of METTL3 in GC tissues was significantly increased and was linked to poor prognosis. According to findings, elevated expression of METTL3 promotes tumour angiogenesis and glycolysis in GC, suggesting that expression of METTL3 is a potential prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for human GC.
