Salari-Moghaddam A, et al. - Using online databases including PubMed/Medline, ISI Web of Science, and Scopus, investigators estimated the relationship between metformin use and risk of fracture in 3 cohort studies. They observed a significant inverse correlation between metformin use and risk of fracture when 7 effect sizes from 6 studies were combined. They did not find any significant between-study heterogeneity. Additionally, they recorded no evidence of publication bias using Egger's test.
