Ho AS et al. -In the current study the independent impact of numerical metastatic LN burden on survival in oral cavity cancer patients was studied.The number of metastatic nodes was shown to be a critical predictor of oral cavity cancer mortality, and more important than other features, such as LN size and contralaterality. Indeed, the numerical metastatic LN burden may improve staging and facilitate better treatment decisions.
