Metabolic syndrome is not associated with greater evidences of proliferative inflammatory atrophy and inflammation in patients with suspected prostate cancer

Russo GI, et al. - In patients with suspected prostate cancer (PCa), the association between metabolic syndrome (MetS) and proliferative inflammatory atrophy (PIA) was assessed herein. No correlation was noted between MetS and PIA in PCa patients. It was not found probable that MetS could be related to a greater evidence of PIA, despite the small sample size and cross-sectional nature of the study.
