Lokuge K, et al. - Researchers aimed at assessing whether the procedural stroke/death risks from carotid endarterectomy (CEA) and carotid artery stenting (CAS) have changed over time. Findings revealed a marked decrease in the risks of procedural stroke/death following CEA. They found no evidence of a change in stroke/death rates following CAS.
