Creavin B, et al. - The goal of this work was to assess the pathological outcomes of open versus laparoscopic rectal resection. Open and laparoscopic rectal resections were slightly different regarding mesorectal quality. This may be due to the use of laparoscopic instruments; however, minor defects seemed to have no effect on oncological outcomes.
