The Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal Jan 16, 2020
Sun LL, et al. - Via performing a meta-analysis of 13 randomized, controlled trials of different doses of methylprednisolone in severe Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (SMPP), researchers determined the safety and efficacy of treatment with low- vs high-dose methylprednisolone in children with SMPP. The high-dose group included data from 524 children and the low-dose group included data from 525 children. In all, researchers found high-dose methylprednisolone to be effective in treating SMPP without increasing the incidence of adverse reactions.
