Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Nov 12, 2019
Hong SB, Choi SH, won Kim K, et al. - In this systemic review and meta-analysis of 5 eligible articles representing 457 people, experts ascertained the diagnostic performance of MRI for liver metastasis in people with pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PDA). They also compared it with computed tomography (CT). The meta-analytic summary sensitivity and specificity were 85% and 98%, respectively. Compared with CT, MRI exhibited a greater sensitivity (85% vs 75%) but comparable specificity (98% vs 94%). In all, for liver metastasis in individuals with PDA, MRI had a good overall diagnostic performance, along with greater sensitivity compared with CT.
