Wang Y, et al. - The authors performed this meta-analysis to examine the role of adjunctive dexamethasone therapy in bacterial meningitis in children. Adjunctive administration of dexamethasone was found to be conducive to the treatment of children with bacterial meningitis to a certain extent, for decreasing the possibility of hearing loss and severe neurological sequelae. However, it had no significant effect on the follow-up mortality.
