Meta‐analysis of association between migraine and risk of dementia

Wang L, Wu JC, Wang FY, et al. - Migraine was identified as a potential risk indicator for Alzheimer disease (AD) and all-cause dementia.
From PubMed, EBSCO, Web of Science, and EMBASE database, cohort studies were identified.
A total of five published cohort studies with 249,303 individuals were analyzed.
In pooled analysis, elevated risk of all-cause dementia [risk ratio (RR): 1.34] and AD (RR: 2.49) was found in relation to migraine.
No association existed between migraine and risk of vascular dementia (RR: 1.51).
