Hunter J, et al. - The clinicians aimed to ascertain the relationship between a mental health visit and risk for repeat deliberate self-harm (DSH) with or without intensive care unit (ICU) admission or all-cause death using population-level health data. They concluded that the follow-up care had virtually no relationship with subsequent risk, so treatment, as usual, was insufficient. They recommended post-DSH care, which was augmented with evidence-based interventions.
