International Journal of Nursing Studies | Aug 12, 2017
Kong EH, et al. – This paper encompassed a critical assessment, interpretation and synthesis of the literature on menÂs experiences after prostatectomy. Men reported physical, psychological, and social changes. They were physically and psychologically ill–prepared and suffered from a lack of information and support. Health care providers were advised to be sensitive to menÂs needs including perceptions of masculinity, had to realize the significance of support as an essential component of menÂs adaptation post–prostatectomy and provide in–depth and individualized patient–centered interventions. The obtained data necessitated an additional investigation.
